Designed with Viviana Gonzalez
The parklet provided a communal space for NJIT students featuring two folding benches, creating an interactive experience and multiple functions. During studio, the benches fold up and become a pinup wall. After studio, the benches can fold down to form a social space. The parklet provided much needed auxiliary space for the architecture school, a place to eat your food with friends outside. This project was the winner of the AIAS Freedom by Design parklet competition and wouldn't have been possible without the student volunteers who came out to help.
